If there were any doubts about the Chinese interest in auto mobiles, they were erased during Auto China 2000, a seven-day auto show held at the China International Exhibition Center.

Hot temperatures outside the exhibition center and huge crowds did not deter visitors who wanted to see vehicles on display from June 6 to 12.

Carting car racing is taking off in Beijing as the capital's own boy racers get into the sport that has swept the world. Beijing's first carding car race was held over four legs in July and August, sponsored by the Beijing Municipal Government and Beijing Automobile Sports Association.
