Beijing Museum of Ancient Architecture: Glories in Ancient Arts
Beijing Museum of Ancient Architectures lies on the old site of the Xiannong Altar which was built in 1420 AD. It used to be the site where the emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties offered sacrifices to farming gods and held tilling ceremonies. A group of ancient buildings including Xiannong Altar, The Hall of Taisui, the Divine Kitchen, the Divine Warehouse and the Hall of Clothes and Tools are well preserved.
Zhen Shi Yuan Mendu'r Museum
"At that difficult point, Kiyoko calmly said to me, 'If this is the thing you want to do, let's do simply do it. It will do good to Chinese people." At the exhibition, I was surprised to see the mendun'r of my own old courtyard. I was very glad, yet I can't escape this sense of shame and loss. I walked in and out of that gate every day, but I never noticed the deep meaning and historical significance that it incurred.
Guan Fu Ya Ji at Liulichang: The Charm of Chinese Indoor Screens and Windows
This exhibition focuses on the windows, screens and inner layout of traditional Chinese houses. Traditional Chinese buildings are mainly composed of wood beams and columns. Doors with carvings and screens are used to link the columns. The screens, with beautiful carvings, usually have six or eight leaves.
